Claudia was born in Bogotá, Colombia. She
graduated in 1986 from the Universidad de la Sabana earning a bachelor of
fine arts degree in Education and Art History. She specialized and worked in
Artistic Ceramic until moving to the USA in 1993 to study English and
continue her art career. Once here, she obtained a second degree, an
associate’s in Arts-Jewelry.
Commenting on her background, Claudia says that
“Experimenting and working with oil painting, water color, collage,
ceramics, sculpture and of course the design of fine jewelry has given me
the opportunity to dig deep into color, textures and multidimensional
forms.”
Working in the “third dimension” has inspired
her to create unique jewelry pieces that have an air of movement, esthetics
and harmony. Her pieces transmit a sense of tranquility and equilibrium that
will be both enjoyable to wear and to admire. “There is a beauty and love in
everything, in everyone, everyday, and life should reflect these things. I
hope to contribute to that with my work and life.”
